New Blog Name

Ok, so I've been thinking for some time about changing the name of my blog. Originally when I started thinking about opening an Etsy shop I had a name picked out but it was already taken. So I checked and Chic Garden was not taken so I went ahead and named my blog "Chic Garden". A lot of time went by and wasn't so sure about the name any more. So when I went with the name "Princy n Paris" I wanted the option to blog about my shop but my blog name didn't coordinate. So I finally changed the name. I want to get better at blogging and start building up my followers so that they, you, will be in the know about what I'm doing and what I'm working on. It also gives followers the opportunity to ask about certain questions about my products and builds a relationship with my customers or future customers;) I will be blogging later about "Whats in a name". Stay tuned:)

This past weekend my oldest son, Angel, participated in a Bridge tournament for his school. They held the tournament at the Womans Club of Norfolk in a beautiful old house that is a little over 100 hundred years old. It was beautiful! The picture below is a sketch of the house.They did such a good job! Angels and his partner won almost every round. I would try and explain the game but it would take way to long and I don't even get all the rules. They ended up making 3rd place among all of the local schools. The kids were so excited to bring a trophy back to school to have displayed in their trophy case:)

The picture above is a picture of 4 of the students that played from Landstown elementary. {Angel is the one holding up the peace sign}

Here he is getting ready to play!

Paris-Noels 1st Birthday Party!! (I'm only 2 months late!!)

Ok, so I admit it....I'm no good at blogging. English and Writing were never my strong point. I always feel so intimidated to put my thoughts and feelings out there for anyone to read only for someone to stumble across my blog and find all kinds of typos and what not...but I just have to ignore my pride and update my blog a little and get back on track...typos and all!

So here are the pics of my babies 1st Birthday Party!!Here she is with daddy and big brother...I think that this was after the cake eating. She was HYPER for over a hour after the party was over!
In this picture all Princeton wanted to do was eat his rock candy and didn't want to smile. Don't blame him, rock candy is good! In case you were wondering where my oldest son was, Angel, he was in MN spending the holidays with his dad. Yes, that's how late I am. Paris's birthday was Dec. 22 and I did her party the day after Christmas. I did a candy shoppe theme with lots of bright colors and LOTS of candy, of course!:) {I actually still have a ton left} In the pictures below you will see a loooong table. I took 2 six foot tables and butted them up together. I cleared my living room of its furniture to accommodate the tables. I had envisioned a banquet table filled with lots of goodies:) I took lollipops and
made flower arrangements for the tables. I also made those cute flower pom poms (thank you Martha Stewart) to add a bit of color! I loved the way it came out!:) I just wish that I had more sophisticated chairs to seat around the tables because those metal ones are an eye sore :( That's the designer in me I guess.

This was the 1st bite of cake that Paris has ever had! I made sure of that:) Her daddy had tried to give her a piece of cake a couple of weeks before her birthday and I lept across the kitchen and took it off her highchair. I wanted her 1st bite to be on her birthday. Jorel thought I overacted just a bit but it made sense to me:) The lady who made her beautiful cake was the same lady who did Jorels and my wedding cake and also did Princetons 1st birthday cake:) A small tradition. I hope the cake lady is still around for my kids weddings;) Uh.....NO, I'm not already planning their weddings if that's what ya'll are thinking!:)

Another one of my short comings....procrastination! It has always been my weakness! It's one of those things in life that I can't seem to get rid of...don't know why I struggle with it. Maybe it's because I seem to function a little better under stress. So with that in mind I will continue to strive to better myself in that department and not make my blog posts so few and far in between:)
P.S. I also want to mention a giveaway that is going on on this blog...www.dearlillie.blogspot.com I just recently found this fabulous blog and ever so enjoy reading it! Check it out!:)

Halloween!!

The day of Halloween started off to a good start! I had just found out that one of my girlfriends had just had her baby early in the morn! I was so excited!:) A Halloween baby and a month early at that. So got up, got the kiddos ready only to find out that 1st thing in the morning wasn't a good time to visit a mom who had just had a baby! Hello! I should have thought of that 1st...well, I had TONS to do just didn't know which to tackle first. My sister then decides to come up with all these wonderful Halloween plans...that's when the stress started. She wanted to do it all at my house. Make neat Halloween dishes such as mummy pizzas, eye ball cookies, dirt cake etc...well, I would have loved to buuut my house was a WRECK seeing that I was still preparing for a jewelry party where I was planning to introduce my hair accessories that I have been making for the past several months. So instead of having a break down and try and have it at my house we later decided to do it at my moms. Phew! A huge relief. It was narrowed down to pizza bagels and my sis made cool eye ball cookies! The kids ate them before I had a chance to take a pic:) The pic below is my FAVE of my lil munsters:)OK, so what do you dress up as for Halloween on a budget? And I mean a small budget! The weekend before we went to a friends Halloween party, that was kid friendly, and needed to come up with FIVE costumes on a budget. So I ran to Party City and found a vampire costume for Princeton, keeping in mind Jorels vampire costume 2 years ago. Also keeping in mind my massive angel wings that I've had for years. So found the vampire costume for Prince but was not impressed. I then saw the lil spitfire costume! So perfect for my "lil spitfire"! So angels and devils it was. Angel, my eldest, had just joined Taekwondo and had a brand new uniform to sport. He was more than happy to wear that for Halloween:) My original idea was to be an angel and Jorel a vampire and then have the boys dressed up as hybrids, vampire angels! Well, there's not many accessories for vampires so that was another deciding factor on having devils as a part of our family themed Halloween :) So in the long run all I had to buy was angel wings and a halo for Paris-Noel and devil accessories for Jorel and Princeton's lil spitfire costume. Not bad I say.
