I need YOUR help!

I am following Dear Lillie's example and asking for your help! I've been trying to decide between two different logo's and I like them both so much I can't seem to choose!!! I think I'm driving la parisienne crazy with my indecisiveness!! I know I would be getting aggravated at me! Well here they are....let me know which one you think best depicts "Princy n Paris"!

                                                    #1

This is what we started out with. I actually really like the blue but I'm more of a pink person so I asked her to change out the blue for a muted pink....
#2
This is the 1st logo I think I like a little better than the 2nd. It's really hard to see the details from the pic but it has delicate vines going all around and on the inside is a faint image that looks similar to damask.

#3
Here is the same logo with a slight change in font placement
#4
Here is the font going straight across
#5

Here is the 2nd logo with the muted pink and the name stacked. I like how the "n" is in the center . I think I'm leaning more and more towards this one! What do you think? I would love to hear from you!

Happy 4rth of July!

For the past 7 years we have spent our Fourth of July in a small town called Radford, VA. My grandparents bought some property off of the lake in Radford and spent their summers there. Eventually they moved and made it their permanent address. When they passed my father and brother split the land and my dad built a cabin (with his own two hands!!). The only part of the house he contracted out was having the foundation layed and the shingles put on the roof, when you see the pics of the cabin you'll see why. Here is ,by far, my favorite picture {and probably one of the only} of my dad and Paris together. She wanted to help navigate:)

See how big she's cheesin'?:)

My dad bought the plans for his cabin from an architect in Vermont. You can kind of see some similar features of this cabin to some you would see in Vermont. Built to survive a LOT of snow:)

Another view, my mom's still working on landscaping and what not:) They just moved in about a month and a half ago.

The view from their porch. It's hard to tell but it kind of looks like a valley and at the bottom is the lake. Off in the distance you can kind of see where my dad docks his boat.

Here is my lovely mom and sister, Helen:) My mom is so funny! There was a pot hanging in front of her and she snatched that pot and got it out of my picture taking {see it on the coke box} My mom is the opposite of my dad! She LOVES pictures!:) I think she likes showing off her pretty smile!:)

Yumm! Store bought cupcakes! {no time for baking!}

Here is Helen's husband, Josh. Our chef for the night of the 4rth! He made the BEST hamburgers and sizzled up some yummy squash and zucchini!! Double yummm!! :P

My other sister, Martha and my precious Princeton:)

Martha again but with Paris:) She LOVES being on the boat!! One of the words she can say clearly!:)

Ok, on this picture I cheated. Angel wasn't with us for the 4rth. He spends the summers with his dad in MN, so I borrowed this pic from the previous visit to Radford for my baby sisters graduation:) Isn't he so handsome!!! *Sigh* I miss him soooo much!!:(

Speaking of my baby sister here she is about to cut the cake:) Again, this was from the previous trip. I wanted to blog about it and just haven't found the time:)

Well, as for the night of the 4rth, I must say it was the best fourth of July I've ever had!! My dad took the boat out and we watched the fireworks from the water. The locals go ALL out!! They spend thousands and it shows!!! We were seeing fireworks in about 9-12 different locations all at once!!! It was amazing!! Some where closer than others and we were all trying to count the locations that were doing fireworks:) I can't wait for next year!! So, what did you do for the fourth? See any fireworks? Spend time with the family? Cook out!! I would love to hear from you!:) I miss you guys!!! That's the one complaint I have....NO Internet and cell phones!!! I felt so out of touch!!
Hope you had a good one!!
XOXO

The Audrey tutu and some Antique lovin'

I've been meaning to write about this tutu for almost a week now! I don't know where the time has gone! It seems that as soon as summer is here time seems to SPEED up!! I have a love for Audrey Hepburn! I made a brooch in her honor and then Dear Lillie made a tutu named the Audrey. So, of course, I just had to order one!:) Here it is with my sweet Paris-Noel modeling it:) Warning: There are a lot of pics!

She just loved her tutu!! Paris is definitely a girly girl! I was NOT growing up so it's been so much fun watching her giggle and sqeal over the girly things I dress her in:)
I just LOVE this Flower clip!! I made it with a script pattern stamped on the fabric and some damask fabric leaves and some fun feathers that totally make it unique:) There is a fabric damask button in the center with Swarovski crystals. It goes PERFECT with her Joyfolie shoes!! I have a thing for Damask!;)
She was having so much fun in her tutu!

Here is a close up of her Nichelle's.I don't know why but i love this pic! I had to fight tooth and nail to get these!!! If any one knows anything about Joyfolie , you know how hard it is to snag a pair of her shoes!!
I don't know if you remember this table but i took a picture of it and blogged about it here. Well, I went back for it and placed it on the wall near my front door:) I LOVE it!! It has the perfect amount of chippy paint and distressing!! I know some people may not understand why on earth I would want furniture in my house that looks old with peeling paint but I happen to LOVE that look!! I am DYING to redo my living room, dining room and kitchen! Get rid of the yellow paint and go natural and make it frenchy and shabby chic!! Stay tuned because I WILL be doing that soon, maybe next week? Who knows. It's a matter of when my handsome handy man has time to indulge my decorating itches:) Of course it's going to take time to find the PERFECT accessories to go with my new look but I will blog about my findings as I go:)
(please ignore the tacky alarm box and temperature thingy, can't think of the name right now! I'm still trying to figure out how I can hide them!!)

Love my little nest with eggs:)
I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe 4rth of July weekend! I will be out of town (leaving tonight while the kids sleep) to go to Radford to spend time with my family:)

Beach Bum Edens Bouquet and a Dear Lillie Giveaway!!

MY BEACH BUM;)

So, I decided to go to the beach yesterday to get the kids out of the house and to take pics of Paris wearing one of my new summer headbands. Boy, was that a mistake!! It was one of the HOTTEST days this year!! You would think we were in the middle of August, not June!!! I think it got to 103 and that's NOT including the heat index!!:( So here are some pics of our very hot {and short} trip to the beach:)

For those of you who don't know, I was a winner to one of the giveaways that Edens Bouquet  has going on all of this week!! Yippeee!! I was so excited! Before I even knew I was the winner I started thinking about what I would make, ya know incase I won! Click here for their Saturday giveaway going on right now! Here is the headband featured below:)

The headband is made with a muslin wrapped headband and large muslin flower with vintage inspired croquet lace and a conch shell in the center. A vintage rose button is in the center of the sky blue silk dupioni flower and a small shell button is in the center of the silk cream flower. You can go here to purchase. I only have enough materials to make 2 of these so get it while you can!!

I LOVE living near the beach! You just can't go wrong taking pictures there!

Here are my babies enjoying the somewhat cool water {not really}. The water was actually quite warm and offering very little relief.

My "Prince" charming!:) LOVE him!!

Jenni from Dear Lillie is doing another fabulous giveaway!! You can go here to find out how you can enter to win her Annabel tank! I've been wanting one of these for a while now!! I spend every dime on the kids but it would be really nice to get something for me!!:) It is especially hard to look cute in this crazy summer heat!! Goodness! I would totally pair this with a cute pair of jeans and heels with pearls or even with a skirt and sandals. I've got my eye on some black patent leather thong sandals that would be FAB with this tank!!!

Where Women Create

Hello and welcome to my little corner in the world. I was shopping in AC Moore one day (like I do a LOT) and came across a magazine called "Where Women Create". I immediately picked it up and started strumming thru it. I had to buy it. I was introduced to several wonderful women and their creative spaces. One of them being Karen Valentine. She is host of this wonderful blog party that I am participating in. So now i will continue with showing you my "creative space":). I will start off by telling you my space is very new.....as in a couple of weeks new. I was working out of my dining room and hated always seeing the clutter everywhere!! I wanted my dining room back!!! So that is when the Mr. Princy n Paris and I decided to carve out a corner in our living room for my studio.....

It all started several months ago when I decided to open up my etsy shop. I wanted to be able to stay at home full time with my three kids and also wanted a creative outlet. I worked nine years as a designer, staging a showroom for a corporate furniture store. I've opened and done up many showrooms and eventually became the Special Projects Coordinator. I was in charge of all the "Special Projects" that went on in our store. After doing it for a couple of years I became pregnant with my 3rd baby and decided I wanted nothing more than to be a stay at home mom. But I didn't want my creative juices to start boiling inside of me so I found a way to let them out....http://www.princynparis.etsy.com/ was born:)

This is one of the first things you see when you walk into my house. A french Provencal dresser painted green {soon to be white!} that houses all of my fabrics, beads, and other supplies that I create with.

I like to keep inspiration near by and have some of my favorite books and magazines at fingers touch.

I place my most used items in these pretty glass jars, ribbons, feathers, seam binding, buttons, ect....

I rescued this chair from being thrown away due to a damaged rush seat. I repaired the seat and placed a silk pillow overtop for something cushy to sit on so my bum doesn't go numb, lol!:) I use the silk flowers, sometimes, in my hair creations. I like to mix them with my fabric ones for a different look:)

The window was also a rescue. The house my hubby was working on had  many windows that he was suppose to throw away. I snatched several of them:)

Here is my desk, made from 2 LARGE corbels that the hubby attached to the wall (using the studs of course!) and we then found a beveled glass that we used for my surface. I LOVE it. It is so easy to keep clean and I can glue, stamp and create away without worry of damaging it:) Above my work space is an OLD fireplace mantel that I am using as a shelf. On the wall is an inspiration board, that I just made and that is why I don't have much inspiration on it:)

My older son, Angel was so kind to take a picture of mommy working so that I can give you a visual of me in my much loved "creative space"

Here is my faithful companion GiGi. She stays at my feet at all hours of the night! No matter how tired she is she stays with me until the lights are turned off:) Well ladies (and gents in case there are any snooping around;) I hope you have enjoyed looking my space as much I have enjoyed showing you!:)

One HUGE shout out to my wonderful husband!! Happy Fathers Day! I couldn't have asked for a better husband and father to my children! You work so hard for our family! I thank GOD every day for sending you to me! I LOVE you!
