I've had a love for shabby chic items for over 10 years! It just seemed a given that my house would be "shabby chic". Somehow it's not. Instead I have made my home a cross between French Country with some shabby chicness.....here and there.
Since I've opened up Princy n Paris on etsy I've been working out of my dining room......and living room......and pantry and coat closet {well, the pantry and coat closet house some of my materials}
So, I'm thinking it's time for a change.
I'm ready for a change!
After some deliberation with the hubby we decided to transform the one room in our house that does not get much use......the living room.
We LIVE in our family room {garage converted into a family room}
As I write my husband is knocking a hole in our wall that will lead from our living room into our family room so that I can keep a real close eye on the kiddos:)
I am trying so hard to make this an effortless transition but like most things in life it's becoming a domino effect. I really really want a pure white shabby chic style home. So this move is causing me to rethink the colors and style that I have going on. Once the hubby is done with demo I can take pics:)
I'm thinking of getting a white slipcover for the sofa and chair in the living room and then paint the yellow walls to a neutral color, whether I go with an off white or a very soft gray is yet to be determined:)
Sooooo, all of that to say I need a work corner and a desk and storage. My husband and I went antique shopping on Friday {with the kids I might add} and found this awesome hole in the wall store!! I'm tellin ya it's filthy and grimy!! You can hardly walk through the store it's so packed with junk {or hidden treasure}!!!
So we got a babysitter today and went treasure hunting!!! SO MUCH FUN!!! the hard part for me was figuring out what to leave behind {girl on a budget here}.
Love this collection of old vintage cameras!!
Here are some of the "treasures" that I found!!!:) So I hoping that with my new found treasures, white slipcovers, new paint and curtains I can transform my living room into a fabulous shabby chic work/living space!!
Speaking of shabby chic....my friend Amy is doing a giveaway!!! Yippeee!! I am so hoping that I win this time!! I am lovin this new hoodie!!!:) Click on the link to find out how you can enter to win:) Good luck and I hope you are all having a wonderful Memorial day weekend!!

Love shabby chic style and looks like you found some great pieces. Cannot wait to see what you come up with Prencie. My dream is to remodel our little office/crafting loft space. It is an overflow room right now and an eyesore at the moment.
ReplyDeleteOh & that hoodie, yes, I think I am winning that one. LOL hehe!!
Prencie! I can't wait to see pics! And where is that shop? I LOVE LOVE LOVE antique shops, especially the junk ones where you can find THE BEST Deals! Half of our furniture is from places like that.
ReplyDeleteHey Jenni:) It's off of Granby st. in Norfolk. If you google Norfolk Zoo (which is on Granby st.) you can get an idea of the location. It's just a little past the zoo on the left hand side next to a 7'11. I think the shops name is just ANTIQUES. I'm warning you it pretty gross and awesome at the same time!!:) If you decide to explore let me know, I need to go back for more!!!:)
