Antiques and an Evy's tree Giveaway!!!

I've had a love for shabby chic items for over 10 years! It just seemed a given that my house would be "shabby chic". Somehow it's not. Instead I have made my home a cross between French Country with some shabby chicness.....here and there.
Since I've opened up Princy n Paris on etsy I've been working out of my dining room......and living room......and pantry and coat closet {well, the pantry and coat closet house some of my materials}

So, I'm thinking it's time for a change.
I'm ready for a change!

After some deliberation with the hubby we decided to transform the one room in our house that does not get much use......the living room.

We LIVE in our family room {garage converted into a family room}
As I write my husband is knocking a hole in our wall that will lead from our living room into our family room so that I can keep a real close eye on the kiddos:)
I am trying so hard to make this an effortless transition but like most things in life it's becoming a domino effect. I really really want a pure white shabby chic style home. So this move is causing me to rethink the colors and style that I have going on. Once the hubby is done with demo I can take pics:)
I'm thinking of getting a white slipcover for the sofa and chair in the living room and then paint the yellow walls to a neutral color, whether I go with an off white or a very soft gray is yet to be determined:)
Sooooo, all of that to say I need a work corner and a desk and storage. My husband and I went antique shopping on Friday {with the kids I might add} and found this awesome hole in the wall store!! I'm tellin ya it's filthy and grimy!! You can hardly walk through the store it's so packed with junk {or hidden treasure}!!!

So we got a babysitter today and went treasure hunting!!! SO MUCH FUN!!! the hard part for me was figuring out what to leave behind {girl on a budget here}.
Love this collection of old vintage cameras!!

Here are some of the "treasures" that I found!!!:) So I hoping that with my new found treasures, white slipcovers, new paint and curtains I can transform my living room into a fabulous shabby chic work/living space!!

Speaking of shabby chic....my friend Amy is doing a giveaway!!! Yippeee!! I am so hoping that I win this time!! I am lovin this new hoodie!!!:) Click on the link to find out how you can enter to win:) Good luck and I hope you are all having a wonderful Memorial day weekend!!

Breakfast at Tiffany's

Here is a fabulous brooch that I'm working on for a special order. I haven't finished it yet, nothing is attached, I've just layered everything on top of each other:) I naming this one "Breakfast at Tiffany's". Who isn't a fan of that movie?!?! It is the epitomy of chic and glamour. The birth of the "black" dress.
I did a Breakfast at Tiffany's theme for my sisters bridal shower. It.Was.So.Much.Fun!!! I had a blast with the planning of it!!! I can't for the life of me find my pictures but if I ever find them I'll have to do another post on it;) All the guests were asked to come dressed in black and bathed in pearls and babbles. I had Tiffany & Co. bags EVERYWHERE with white tissue and huge glass diamonds propped beside them. I also had pearls draped on the bags. Centered on the tables were white roses and tea lights with stacks of the Tiffany blue boxes tied with white ribbon. I bought every poster known to man of that movie and had them displayed throughout the clubhouse. I also had the movie playing while the guests were mingling and eating. I had dinner catered and for desert everyone got their own mini fondant cake, a Tiffany blue box with white ribbon . As a giveaway all guests received a small Tiffany colored blue box and white satin ribbon with a huge diamond engagement ring that was a keyring:)

I printed this picture out and printed out the invitation on the vellum {I LOVE  using vellum} and used it as an overlay on the picture. I also dotted all the I's with rhinestone. I attached everything to a Tiffany blue colored card stock and wrapped with a white satin ribbon:) Simple and elegant.
I think this image is one of my favorites.  I've also been dying to thank everyone for their wonderful compliments!!!For all the new comers. WELCOME!! :) Well, that's all for now. Ta ta for now Dahlings!!

Champagne Dreams

So, as you can see, no Nautical inspired accessories.
I had just purchase 4 fabulous J Crew Headbands, 2 cream and 2 light peach, and was dying to do something with them! I had also found this fabulous cream ribbon with a tan damask print that I was able to manipulate and turn into a dainty flower. Then I put a vintage inspired button in the center.
I'm always trying to find new ways to make and create! I hope I don't disappoint;)

Perfect for a spring, summer, fall or even winter wedding!
I took pictures of both Paris and me wearing the headband so that you can get a good idea if how it can work for both little girl or young woman:) Or even better you can share the headband!!;)
Now to figure out what to do with the light peach ones. Hmmmm???

Summer is just around the corner....Eeeek!

It seems as though spring just got here and now we are facing summer!! It was over 90 degrees here in VA Beach last week and the forecast is calling for some more 90 degree weather here this week. When I was younger I hated the winter!! But now, here in the last 2 years, I dread the summer!!! It's sooooo hot and muggy where we live and makes it impossible to play outside or have fun outdoors. My husbands favorite line is "Its global warming baby!" every time I complain about the heat!! I told him to get a new answer :) So with that in mind here are some trinkets that I've been collecting along the way waiting for some spare time to mess around and see what I make of them. I just ADORE nautical themes!!! I'm in the process of redoing my boys room and I'm  struggling with the strong want to make it a Nautical theme.
I don't know what I'm going to make, be it headbands, clips, jewelry.....I guess I will find out as soon as I sit down and figure it out:) My husband took the kids out and I've the whole house to myself!!!! I don't know where to begin!! I'm ignoring the piles of laundry, dust and dishes and I'm going to enjoy this free time to CREATE!! Yippeee!! Stay tuned......

I'm am also open to suggestions or color ideas!! I know with Memorial Day and 4rth of July coming up, red, white and blue seem to be a given but sometimes I like to do things a little more non-tradtionally:) Not to say I won't do red, white and blue!!:)

Joyfolie: Joyfolie Giveaway!

What once was Mia Joie is now Joyfolie. I will start from the beginning. When I was pregnant and found out I was having a girl I discovered the world of ETSY. Living in that world was this fabulous shoe shop named Mia Joie.
It was love at first sight!
When I 1st discovered etsy I wasn't sure how it all worked. For some reason I had a hard time comprehending this world of talent and that I could actually purchase handmade items for a fraction of the price that I would pay at a boutique.

Mia Joie was one of those shops.

Somehow I didn't realize that I could save a shop as a favorite and went crazy when I lost my long list of favorite items that I had fell in love with off of etsy. I was beyond excited when I rediscovered Mia Joie last summer. But something was different. There were no shoes in her shop.
Months went by and I just didn't understand how this etsy shop stayed in business with just one item in it. I then checked her sales and was shocked to see how many items had been selling right under my nose.
You see what was happening was she would blog {this was before I even knew what a blog was} about when she was going to list her shoes on etsy. The first time this happened I was still working part time and money was tight. It was a Monday and I saw a pair of the most beautiful peep toe shoes. So I thinks to myself, "hmmm.....if these are here by Fri. I am totally going to get a pair!" They were all gone by the next day!!!??!?!?! I was shocked, I had never heard of anything like this. Well, to make a looooong story shorter I finally snagged a pair of peep toes and can't wait to get more!
At the brink of opening up her own website Mia Joie was faced with a lawsuit. Having to put everything on hold a new name was needed. Just days ago we all { all as in all of Mia Joie's die hard fan club!} was introduced to JOYFOLIE. Just click on the link to discover the wonderful world of little girl shoes and beautiful accessories, soon to be available to the public.

Happy Anniversary Baby!! Five years! Wow!

I can't believe it's been 5 years!! I feels like yesterday! I don't have much time so I will be brief! First please excuse the awful glare on the pics!! These are a pic of a pic! I wasn't about to battle scanning my huge photo album on the scanner! We got married at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens during spring time. God could not have blessed us with a better day! I always say it was His wedding gift to us. The cherry blossom trees were in bloom and the weather was gorgeous!                                                         Yes, I had a blush pink wedding dress! It was a pink silk taffeta. I'm not going to tell you what I paid for it or where I found it! ;) It would ruin the idea of it all!!:)               Our first dance, we danced to Etta James "At last". Love that song!

My flower bouquet made by my mom. Pink peonies, ranunculus, roses and wisps of honey suckle. All of my favorite flowers! I loved it! I didn't want a structured bouquet (which I do love, nothing wrong with those!:) but I wanted something wild and free, as if they had just been picked. Dragonflies were my little motif throughout.Duplicating the picture my parents have on their wedding day, except they were in a VW bug, mine is a VW jetta. My entire family drives VW's. Love those cars. I always joked my dad. I told him he only drives them because they sport his intials, VW for Van Wood;)
